Privacy Policy — TerseEditor

TerseEditor (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the TerseEditor macOS application (the “App”) and the website terseeditor.com (the “Website”). It is prepared in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

The App: What Data We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data from the App. TerseEditor works entirely on your device: it requires no account, makes no network calls, and contains no analytics, telemetry or crash-reporting of any kind. You can run it on an offline Mac and nothing changes.
Your Files and Notes
Documents you open and notes you create in TerseEditor:
- are stored as plain text files on your device, in folders you choose;
- are never uploaded to, stored on, or transmitted to our servers — we have no servers;
- are never shared with third parties by the App.
If you point the notes folder at a cloud-synced location (for example iCloud Drive), synchronisation is performed by that provider under its own terms — the App itself still transmits nothing.
The Website: Analytics
The Website uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) to understand aggregate visits and download counts. Analytics runs in Google Consent Mode: visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked first, and analytics cookies are set only after you accept (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you reject, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives only cookieless, aggregate signals. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default, based on our legitimate interest in measuring the reach of the Website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google Analytics may process truncated IP addresses and browser metadata. You can change your choice at any time in cookie settings. Data processed by Google may be transferred to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can opt out with the Google Analytics browser add-on or by blocking the googletagmanager.com domain. See Google's Privacy Policy.
The Website: Hosting
The Website and downloads are served by Cloudflare, Inc. acting as our processor. Cloudflare may process connection metadata (IP address, request headers) briefly for security and delivery purposes, in accordance with Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Sharing of Personal Data
We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties, except the service providers named above (Google, Cloudflare) and authorities where required by applicable law.
Your Rights
Since the App does not collect or store your personal data, there is no App data held by us for you to access, correct, or delete. For questions about Website analytics or any GDPR inquiry, contact us at contact@nadzeyayashchuk.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) or your local EU supervisory authority.
Children's Privacy
The App and Website are not directed at children under 13. No personal data is knowingly collected from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at terseeditor.com/privacy with the effective date shown above.
